Places to Visit in Chikhaldara

Bhimkund

Bhimkund is natural waterfall surrounded by lush green forest and rocks. This place has car parking close to the waterfall, you don’t need to walk or trek, to reach this waterfall. You can directly park your vehicle near the waterfall. Be aware of monkeys at waterfall. Enjoy the majestic vies of Satpura Mountain Range at this waterfall.
This location is near Chikhaldara Hill Station and can be easily reached by road. According to legend, Bhima (a character from the Mahabharata) killed Kichaka, the brother-in-law of King Virat, at this spot to protect his wife Draupadi. Bhima then washed his bloody stained in the stream.

Gavilgad Fort

Ahmed Shah Wali, who was the ninth king of the Bahamani dynasty, rebuilt Gawilgarh while he was staying at Ellichpur in 1425. The Gavilgad fort has a grand entrance entry gate. There is also a small lake near the entrance gate. The ruins of Gavilgad fort are spread over large area. You can walk around the fort to explore the ruins of old glory. Don’t forget to bring your own water bottle and food during your fort visit.

Chikhaldara Skywalk

Nand Ganpati Sangrahalaya

The Nand Udyan Ganpati Sangrahalaya museum covers an area of three acres and houses approximately 3000 idols of Lord Ganesha in various shapes, sizes, and poses. Some of the idols are even inspired by modern-day lifestyles.

The Ganesha museum in Chikhaldara has a variety of idols of Lord Ganesha made of different materials like clay, stone, glass, buttons, chalk, matchstick, candles, fibre and even leaves. It takes around one and a half hours to see everything in the museum. To enter the museum, you have to pay a small fee of Rs 50, which is used to maintain the museum. Government Botanical Garden
